How the rankings work

  • Every day we ask ChatGPT, Claude, Google AI Mode and Perplexity the questions buyers ask when choosing software, through the same interfaces people use, with web search on.
  • Only neutral questions count. “What is the best CRM for a small team?” does; “Is HubSpot worth it?” does not, because the question already picked a brand.
  • A brand counts as recommended when the answer puts it forward as an option. Tools named in passing, such as an integration or a review site, are not counted.
  • The share is the percentage of answers that recommend the brand, over the last 7 days. Product lines are counted under their brand (HubSpot CRM is HubSpot).
  • AI answers vary from day to day. A few points of difference between two brands is noise; tens of points is not.
